8. Check Address
The company's legal address is the address registered in the Commercial Register and used by the company for official communications. The executive board is responsible for ensuring that correspondence can be received at the company's legal address.
Requirements for a legal address:
- the address must correspond to the data recorded in the National Address Register. The address can be verified free of charge through the National Address Register Information System at kadastrs.lv;
- a legal address may be registered only in a building or a group of premises (apartment unit). It cannot be registered in a property consisting solely of land;
- if the real estate property comprises several groups of premises, the exact number of the premises group where the legal address is to be registered must be specified;
- the application must include a confirmation that the company is reachable at the specified legal address and has a legal basis for being located there;
- if the legal address is located in a building that has not been divided into numbered groups of premises, the application must indicate the cadastral designation of the building;
- if the legal address is located in premises within a building and such premises have been assigned a number, the application must indicate the cadastral designation of those specific premises;
- if the legal address is located in a building where some premises are numbered and others are not, and the legal address is situated in non-residential premises that have not been assigned a number, the application must indicate the cadastral designation of the relevant premises.
