1. Summary
A limited liability company must submit an application to the Register of Enterprises for the registration of information on the beneficial owners (BO), or for the registration of changes made to such information, without delay, but no later than 14 days from the date on which it becomes aware of the BO or of changes in the relevant information.
If the executive board has not submitted to the Register of Enterprises the information on the beneficial owner (BO) provided by a shareholder in accordance with the procedure and within the time limit prescribed by law, the shareholder may submit the relevant information to the Register of Enterprises directly.

Documents to be submitted:
if the application is submitted by post, proof of payment of the state fee (receipt or copy, online banking payment confirmation, or payment details in free text).
A foreigner (foreign national) who has legal ties with Latvia, on the basis of which mutual rights and obligations in the field of commercial activity and taxation arise or have arisen, but who has not been assigned a personal identity number of the Republic of Latvia, must submit a questionnaire for the inclusion of data in the Register of Natural Persons (to be signed personally by the foreign national with a secure electronic signature if submitted electronically; if a secure electronic signature is not available, this document shall not be submitted).
The Register of Enterprises is entitled to request documentary justification of the exercised control and also a document certifying the compliance of the information identifying the BO (a notarised copy of the personal identification document, a statement from a foreign population register, or other documents equivalent to the abovementioned documents) or documents justifying the certification that it is not possible to determine the BO.
Documents must be submitted to the Register of Enterprises within 14 days of becoming aware of the information.
