An association is a voluntary union of persons established in order to achieve the objective specified in its articles of association, which is not of a profit-making nature.
- The founders of an association may be natural persons, legal persons, as well as partnerships having legal capacity.
- The number of founders may not be less than two.
- Associations are classified in accordance with the classification of fields of activity of associations and foundations, approved by Cabinet regulations, which includes 23 fields of activity.
- In order to achieve its objectives and ensure its operation, an association is entitled to carry out economic activity as a secondary activity.
- An association is a legal person.
