An association is a voluntary association of persons established in order to achieve the purpose set out in its articles of association, which is not of a profit-making nature.
- Founders of an association may be natural persons, legal persons, as well as partnerships having legal capacity.
- The number of founders may not be less than two.
- Associations are classified in accordance with the classification of fields of activity of associations and foundations approved by Cabinet of Ministers regulations, which comprises 23 fields of activity.
- For the purpose of achieving its objectives and ensuring its operation, an association is entitled to engage in economic activity as a supplementary activity.
- An association is a legal entity.
