A European Cooperative Society (SCE) is a voluntary association of persons whose purpose is to promote the effective pursuit of the common economic interests of its members. This legal form has been created to ensure that cooperative societies are not required to establish a subsidiary in each Member State of the European Union in which they operate and to enable them to freely transfer their registered office and head office from one Member State to another.
